Question of the Week
If you've driven or walked by Woodville Grace Brethren Church, you know we ask a question each week on our sign. This blog is a place to respond to that question. This is for church members and community members alike. We don't care what you say here; we're not looking for the "right" answer. We just want to hear from you, your most honest and sincere response. Feel free to respond anonymously, or include a first or full name if you choose! And if you'd like to hear more about the topic on the sign, come Sunday morning at 9 (early service) or 10:45 (late service). The question on the sign is often related to the message coming that Sunday. Oh and while you're here, feel free to poke around the rest of the site to see what else we offer!

Who do you cause to stumble?
We all have different maturity levels. And we all have different strengths and weaknesses. My strength might be another's weakness, so I must be careful not to offend a brother or sister. Paul said if eating meat caused his brother to stumble, he would never eat meat again. So who do you cause to stumble and what can you do about it?

Are you a team player or divisive?
We all bring different gifts and backgrounds to the table, so we can all be helpful to the body of Christ in different ways. Are you willing to put your abilities on the back burner if it would further the work of Christ? Or do you insist on being in the spotlight and thereby cause division and disunity? C. S. Lewis said that true humility is the ability to be just as excited over someone else's achievement as you would be if you had done it yourself. Can you work together with others to bring glory to Christ?

Are you ever wrong?
No one likes to be wrong. The difference between humility and pride is how you react when you are wrong. Do you go to great lengths to prove that you're right? Do you explode and get angry? Do you deny, point blank, any evidence that proves you wrong? Or can you do one of the hardest things people can do . . . admit you were wrong?

Are you ready for Jesus to return?
Someday, our Savior is coming back, just as the Bible tells us. We are instructed to be ready for that day. Are there things you still need to take care of before then? I don't mean earthly things, like "see the pyramids," but spiritual things, like "make right a broken relationship."

Are you a model citizen?
Most people think that they are model citizens, but a fair evaluation can sometimes reveal that we cut corners to suit ourselves. So what about you?

Do you love everybody?
"Love" is kind of an intimidating word. Many would say they love their parents, children, spouses, siblings, etc. (some wouldn't even say that), but we get uncomfortable loving others. What does it look like to love everyone? Do you love everyone or are there some that can't make the cut for you (criminals for example)? We'd love to hear your answer, even if it's very short and informal!

Is God in Your Relationships?
We all have a variety of relationships in our lives. But how many are founded on a spiritual connection? Take a moment to evaluate the emphasis of your relationships. Is it God or something else?

What are your relationships like?
We all have a variety of relationships. The relationships we value say a lot about who we are. Take a second to consider your relationships with others. What are they like?

What is your spiritual gift?
God has gifted each of us, and He's gifted us all differently. That way, the church can accomplish everything that God wants her to. How do you fit into God's plan?

How important are you?
Deep down, we all want to be recognized for our skills, abilities, and contributions. But do those things make us important? Try to assess honestly.
